Colbert Matz Rosenfelt, LLC (CMR) in Baltimore, MD has an opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer Designer. This is an opportunity to join our existing and experienced Civil Engineering Department within our established Civil Engineering / Land Planning / Surveying / Permitting / Landscape Architecture firm.

Job Duties

Required Duties:

This position is mainly an office position with some field visits required. Successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience and be proficient in the following:

·      Ability to design and draft civil engineering plans from concept to final, including public drawings, on-site drawings as well produce any corresponding supporting calculations

·      Engineering Calculations, Hydraulic Computations, Worksheets, Spreadsheets including TR-55,TR-20 and HEC-RAS

·      Coordination with clients and consultants to ensure that the design meets their needs and specifications

·      Using best practice design standards to meet jurisdictional requirements and construction codes

·      Coordination with jurisdictional representatives to facilitate reviews and advance client projects through the approval process

·      Meet project milestones and deliverables.  Regularly meet with Project Manager to go over project status and identify any issues or potential roadblocks of the project

·      Work as part of a development team

·      Other activities as directed by the civil engineering department director

Knowledge and Skills

Additional Required Experience and Abilities:

·      Proficiency in CAD including Civil 3D. Ability to make surfaces, adherence to company design standards, cutting cross-sections in 3D and inserting page sheet auto-numbering. Also proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

·      Ability to perform in a fast—paced environment with quick turnaround times

·      Excellent written,verbal communication and organizational skills

·      Strong attention to details while maintaining consistent workflow

·      Work both independently and as a team member

·      Ability to work overtime when required to meet deadlines

·      Willingness to learn new skills

·      Ability to accept constructive criticism and use it to grow individually

·      Baltimore City and/or Baltimore County experience a plus
