Survey Crew Chief
Job Description
Colbert Matz Rosenfelt, LLC, has an opportunity for a Survey Crew Chief. This is an opportunity to join our existing and experienced Land Surveying Department within our established Civil Engineering, Land Planning, Surveying firm.
Required Duties:
This position is mainly a field position.Successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years progressive field experience and be proficient in the following:
· Stakeout of residential infrastructure
· Stakeout of single-family houses, townhouses and commercial buildings
· Stakeout of Column Lines
· Location Surveys
· Topographic surveys using field to finish methods
· Boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
· FEMA Flood Certifications
· Operation of Trimble robotic total stations and data collectors
· Differential Level Runs
· Operation of GPS/RTK equipment
· Perform basic field computations on a data collector for construction stakeout

Additional Required Experience and Abilities:
· Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills
· Strong attention to details while maintaining consistent workflow
· Work as a team member and have the ability to supervise others on a field crew when necessary
· Comply with established company field procedures
· Ability to work overtime when required to meet deadlines
· Proficient in coordinate geometry and trigonometry
· Knowledge and experience with Modern data collectors, total stations, GPS/RTK
· Knowledge and experience with automation offield collected topographic data including, but not limited to line connectivity, symbology of points using feature codes and command codes
· Ability to work in extreme temperatures
· Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs
